Two held with firearm, knife

Police arrested two alleged muggers with a firearm and knife in port city’s Tiger Pass area on Thursday.

The arrestees are Md Tuhin, 23, and Abdul Malek, 20, both hailing from Madarbari in port city, said a press release from Kotwali Police Station.

Police recovered a light gun, two rounds of ammunition and a knife from their possession.

According to the press release, on information, a team from the police station conducted a drive around 10:30pm and arrested the duo with the weapons. During primary interrogation, the arrestees admitted that they had been engaged in mugging for the last three years.
