UK, Belgium, Sri Lanka get new envoys

Ambassador to Belgium and the European Union Ismat Jahan will replace High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Md Abdul Hannan following his retirement in June while Ambassador to Italy Md Shahdat Hossain will succeed Ismat, says a foreign ministry announcement yesterday.

It is not yet known who will take up Shahdat's duties. Moreover, Riaz Hamidullah, a foreign ministry director general, will replace High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Tarik Ahsan, who has earlier been shifted to Pakistan.
