Woman found dead at home in capital

A daughter of a joint secretary was found dead at their government quarter in the capital's Eskaton Garden yesterday.

On information, police recovered the body of Promithi Rahman, 25, a Chittagong University student around 12:30am.

She was the daughter of Mahbubur Rahman and Alam Ara Begum, a joint secretary to the primary and mass education ministry, Officer-in-Charge of Ramna Police Station Mashiure Rahman told The Daily Star.

Alam Ara talked with her daughter on Eid day from Thailand. Returning home she found her body lying on the floor, the OC said.

Promithi used to live with her mother at the house following separation of the couple, he added.Sources of the Dhaka Medical College morgue, after conducting autopsy of her body, said they collected viscera sample to confirm whether she died of poisoning.
