Workers' Party wants money, power-free polls

The Workers' Party of Bangladesh yesterday expressed hope that the upcoming union parishad elections would be free from muscle-flexing and money power and the Election Commission would ensure the process was free from undesirable influences.

It felt that the polls should be strengthened to empower people, reiterated the ruling 14-party alliance's position, the party said at a meeting yesterday.
