“Japan to get exclusive zone,” published on August 22, 2014
Masum
Bangladesh is in urgent need of car plants. The demands of cars are increasing very fast in Bangladesh and Japanese cars are the most popular in our country. It is time for us to invite Japan to set up car manufacturing/assembling plant, be it Toyota, Nissan, Honda or Suzuki.

“Flood heading for Dhaka from North” (August 23, 2014)
Rashed Chowdhury
I believe this flood is not due to the rainfall in Bangladesh. Perhaps, the water is coming from the upstream of the border with India. I am curious where do they get so much water to pass to Bangladesh? The upstream of the greater Ganges-Brahmaputra-Meghna region (in India) is also supposed to be drier than normal during a moderate El Nino year. Very rare event! Further research is needed here!
Saleh Md. Shahriar
We need rapid and coordinated actions to control the flood.

“New scheme to give villages a new look” (August 20, 2014)
Edward
This government scheme seems like a joke to me. Yes, our father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman dreamt of such beautiful villages but did he, in his worst nightmares, ever imagine the capital to become the worst liveable city? I think our prime minister should start thinking in a different way. She should think what her father would do in the present circumstances of Bangladesh.
Humayun Hyder
A very good plan envisaged by the government to set up housing projects for the village people and also keep land for co-operative farming and forestation. The village people, if the plan gets off the ground, will be immensely benefited because the villages will have all the major facilities a town have. Let us hope that Awami League will be able to make the plan successful and give the village people a better future.
