3 including two govt employees held with yaba in Patuakhali

Three including two government employees were sent to jail today a day after they were arrested with yaba tablets in Patuakhali.

A court in the district sent them to jail when police produced the three in connection with a case filed under the drugs control act, our local correspondent reports quoting police.

The three -- GM Mahbub Alam, 40, deputy assistant officer of Galachipa upazila land office; Elias Sikder, 40, assistant inspector of Dinajpur cooperative office; and Alamgir Hossain -- were arrested while taking yaba pills from a shop at Lawkathi village in Sadar upazila last night.

Police seized 50 yaba tablets from them, said Md Mostafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Patuakhali Sadar Police Station.
