4 ‘female militants’ detained in Sirajganj

Detectives claimed to have detained four female militant suspects in Masumpur area of Sirajganj Sadar upazila early today.

Six crude bombs, nine religious books and some bomb-making materials were recovered from their possession, our Pabna correspondent reports quoting Mirazuddin Ahmed, superintendent of police of Sirajganj.

The detainees were identified as Nadira Tabassum, 30, of Solonga upazila of Sirajganj; Habiba Akter Mishu, 20, of Shahjahanpur upazila of Bogra; Rumana Akter,21, of Shahjahanpur upazila and Runa Begum,20, of Gobindaganj upazila of Gaibandha.

Acting on a tip-off that a group of female militants took shelter in a house of Masumpur village planning to carry out subversive activities, a team of detective branch conducted a drive there around 3:00am and rounded up the four, the police official said
