Abducted kid rescued, kidnapper held

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) rescued a five-year old boy from Ishwardi Bypass Railway Station on Saturday night, two days after his abduction from Savar in Dhaka.

The law enforces also arrested the alleged abductor Monirul Islam Raju, 32, uncle of the victim, from there.

The victim, Mohammad Salman, son of Mirazul Islam of Pirojpur district, was abducted from their rented house in Ashulia of Savar on September 17.

Raju went to visit his brother's house in Ashulia and tactfully kidnapped the boy.

Later, he demanded Tk 2.5 lakh as ransom from Salman's father over mobile phone for release of his son.

Victim's father Mirazul immediately informed the Rab of the matter.

 The elite force, tracking Raju's cell-phone, arrested him from Ishwardi Bypass Railway Station around 8:00pm and rescued the boy from his clutch, said ASI Abu Nawaz Sardar, duty-officer of Rab-12 in Pabna.
