Acid attack on court employee

Criminals threw acid on a peon of Magura District and Sessions Judge's Court on Monday night in front of the residence of the district and sessions judge.

The victim is Selina Khatun, 35, wife of Amirul Islam of Niznanduali village of the district town.

Selina said when she was returning home from the judge's residence around 9:30pm on Monday, some criminals threw acid on her.

Hearing her screams locals rescued her and rushed her to Magura Sadar Hospital.

Police arrested Selim, 23, son of Babu Mia, Javed Ali, 25, son of Rob Mia, and Champa Khatun, ex-wife of Amirul, following Selina's statement, said SP  AKM Ehsan Ullah.

Amirul Islam said Selina is his second wife. His divorced wife Champa had been threatening Selina over family matters. At one stage Champa and her cousin threw acid at Selina.
