Bomb maker killed in Meherpur blast

A professional bomb maker and supplier was killed in a blast when he was making a bomb at Kazipur village in Gangni upazila of Meherpur yesterday.

 The deceased was identified as Saharul Islam, 48, son of Islamil Hossain of the village.

Akram Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Gangni Police Station, said Saharul received severe splinter injuries.

Saharul tried to flee, but locals went to the spot hearing the sound of the blast, caught him and informed the police.

A team from Gangni Police Station arrested Saharul and took him to Gangni Upazila Health Complex.

"Saharul succumbed to his injuries at about 4:30pm," OC Akram said.
