2 die of dengue fever in Noakhali, Mymensingh
Two people including a college student died of dengue fever in Mymensingh and Noakhali districts today.
With the two, the unofficial death toll in the ongoing dengue outbreak has now risen to 81. The number of official deaths recorder by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) is now 40, reports UNB.

The deceased was identified as Forhad Hossain, 20, a student of Itna Degree College in Itna upazila of Kishoreganj, our Mymensingh correspondent reports quoting Dr AB Md Shamsuzzaman, assistant director of MMCH.
Forhad was admitted to the hospital around 10:00pm last night after he was referred to MMCH from Kishoreganj General Hospital.
Deputy Director of Kishoreganj General Hospital Dr Sultana Razia said Forhad was admitted to the hospital with dengue on August 8 and was referred to MMCH as his condition deteriorated on Saturday night.
Forhad was infected with dengue in Dhaka and was admitted to the hospital after his return, added the deputy director.
A total of 201 dengue patients are now taking treatment at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) with 71 more patients being admitted in the last 24 hours till 8.00am today (Sunday), said Dr AB Md Shamsuzzaman, assistant director of MMCH.
A total of 740 dengue patients have been treated at the hospital since July 21, he added.
A record 67 new dengue patients were admitted at different Kishoreganj hospitals in the last 24 hours (Sunday), said Kishoreganj Civil Surgeon Dr Md Habibur Rahman.
Meanwhile in Kishoreganj, a total of 147 dengue patients are currently being treated at different hospitals in the district, the civil surgeon said adding “A total of 597 dengue patients have been treated in Kishoreganj so far”.
In Noakhali, Amir Hossain, 60 died of dengue fever at a hospital in the district.
He was a resident of Dattarpara area of Laxmipur district, our Noakhali correspondent reports quoting Sayed Mahiuddin Abdul Azim, resident medical officer of the hospital.
Amir had been suffering from dengue fever for more than a week in Dhaka and was admitted to Noakhali General Hospital early today after he went to his village home.
According to the DGHS, at least 2,176 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours since 8:00am Friday, taking the total number of dengue patients to 38,844 this year.
Around the country, 9,420 patients are still undergoing treatment.
