Killed JMB man Abdullah's aide arrested

A team of Dinajpur Detective Branch (DB) arrested an operative of outlawed militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) with bombs and sharp weapons from Nawabganj upazila of the district yesterday.

The arrestee is Alamgir Kabir, 24, son of Nurul Huda of village Bollavpur village under the upazila. He was a close friend and aide of Abdullah, who was killed in the Kalyanpur raid in the capital on July 26.

A DB team raided Alamgir's house and arrested him with six crude bombs and two sharp weapons.

He was produced before the Judicial Magistrate's Court with a prayer for a seven-day remand. Senior Judicial Magistrate Gopal Chandra granted a three-day remand.
