Lalmonirhat cloth trader dies of dengue fever
A cloth trader from Lalmonirhat died of dengue fever at Rangpur Medical College Hospital on Sunday evening.
The deceased was Monirul Islam, 35, son of Motaleb Hossain of Kalmati village under Lalmonirhar Sadarupazila. He was a cloth trader in Dhaka’s Keranigaj, reports our Lalmonirhat correspondent quoting family members.
Monirul was infected with dengue fever and took treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. He was released from DMCH on August 7 and went to his home in Lalmonirhat on the same day.
On August 10, he fell ill again and was admitted to Lalmonirhat Sadar hospital. As his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital on Sunday noon, where he died in the evening, said Dr Kashem Ali, civil surgeon in Lalmonirhat.
A total of 45 dengue patients are being treated in the hospitals in Lalmonirhat and all of them were infected with dengue fever in Dhaka, the civil surgeon added.
