Netrakona Jubo League man killed

A Jubo League leader was killed allegedly by his rivals in Bharakanda area under Purbadhala upazila of Netrakona early yesterday.

The deceased was Habibur Rahman Tola, 28, joint convener of Jubo League's Purbadhala union unit.

A gang hacked Tola, son of late Muslem Fakir of the area, when he was returning home from local Hoghla Bazar around 10:00pm on Monday.

He was rushed to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 1:00am.

There was a longstanding conflict between Tola and his neighbour Bulbul Mir, 35, a member of Jubo League's Purbadhala upazila unit, over taking control in the area, said police.

As a sequel to the conflict, Tola and Bubul locked in an altercation recently.
