PDB staff electrocuted

An employee of Power Development Board (PDB) in the district was electrocuted yesterday afternoon due to the alleged irresponsibility of a PDB official.

The deceased is Shahidul Islam, 30, line man helper of PDB in Bogra, and son of Abdus Samad of Moklespur near Phulbari area in the town.

He got married a few days ago, said the family sources.

Following the death of the line man helper, the PDB department suspended its Sub-Assistant Engineer Musfiqul Anowar of Bogra sub-office, said Executive Engineer (Ex En) of Bogra Electricity Sale and Distribution Department-02 Tofazzal Hossain.

PDB and local sources said the suspended sub-assistant engineer along with an official and the victim went to Phulbari area to repair the damaged electricity line from nor'wester and sent him to the upper portion of the 11, 000 volt electric pole for repair. He then died from electrocution.
