Physically challenged farmer beaten to death

A physically challenged farmer was beaten to death in Boalmari upazila of the district yesterday morning.

The deceased is Moksed Sheikh, 55, son of late Masim Sheikh of Moyna village.

Locals said a group of youths of the village went to the Modhumoti River for picnic on Sunday.

On the day, they engaged in an altercation with some people of Raninagor village. A teenage boy of Raninagor was injured during the incident.

Over the issue, some villagers of Raninagor attacked the residents of Moyna yesterday morning, leaving Moksed dead on the spot.
