Schoolboy rescued from traffickers
A schoolboy was rescued while being trafficked to India from Benapole Bazar yesterday.
The victim was identified as Maminul Islam, 7, a Class III student of Nabinagar Government Primary School and son of Shah Alam, a resident of Nabinagar of Savar in Dhaka.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Apurba Hasan of Benapole Police Station said a police team, acting on a tip-off, conducted a drive in the bazaar area at around 10:00am and rescued the boy.
Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the traffickers managed to flee the scene, the OC added.
