Shibir leader arrested

Police arrested a local leader of Islami Chhatra Shibir, student wing of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, from Gangachara upazila of Rangpur yesterday. The arrestee, Golam Rabbani, 28, son of Golam Mustafa of Bhutka village in the upazila, is a Sura member of the party. Police said, a team of the law enforcers, acting on a tip-off, raided Rabbani's house at the village in the morning and arrested him from there. OC Zinnat Ali of Gangachara Police Station said Rabbani is a fugitive accused in an arson case.
