Shop employee murdered in Noakhali

The body of a shop employee was recovered from a shop at Dashgoria Bazar in Porcoat union under Chatkhil upazila of the district yesterday.

The deceased was identified as Nazrul Islam, 26, son of Abdul Matin of Badalcoat village in the upazila.

Anwar Hossain, the owner of the shop, said Nazrul had been serving as the manager at his shop for a long time. He used to stay at the shop at night.

Anowar said when he came to the shop at 8:00am, he found the door open and the shop vandalised. He called Nazrul, but there was no response.

Anwar said he searched the bathroom and found Nazrul's body lying there. There were injury marks on his head, he added.

Being informed, Nasim Uddin, officer-in-charge of Chatkhil Police Station, went to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Noakhali Hospital.

Anwar claimed that Tk 1. 31 lakh was looted from his shop.
