Stolen electric wires seized, six held

Detectives arrested six people from Nishindhara area in the district town yesterday on charge of stealing electric cables of transformers. 

The arrestees are Jafar Mondal, 30, Bablu Mia, 35, Md Sana, 30, Rezaul Karim, 35, Al-Amin, 30, and Md Mostafa, 27. They all hail from different upazilas of Bogra district.

The law enforcers also recovered 82 kilograms of electric wires and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw from the possession of the arrestees

Amirul Islam, officer-in-charge of the Detective Branch of Police in Bogra, said a police team, acting on a tip-off, raided the area around 8:30am and detained the six along with the stolen cables. 

A case was filed with Sadar Police Station in this connection, the OC added.
