Teacher suspended for sexually harassing girl

A teacher of Shulshuli Girls' High School in Khansama upazila was suspended on Friday on charge of sexually harassing a student of class VIII.

Altafur Rahman, 40, a teacher of Islamic Studies, went into hiding after the incident, police said.

Headmaster Abul Kashem said the school managing committee at a meeting suspended him on the basis of a written complaint by the girl.

OC Krishna Sarkar of Khansama Police Station said victim's parents filed a case against the teacher on August 2. Altafur physically harassed the girl in a classroom on August 1, the OC added.
