Teenage girl gang raped in Bandarban

A teenage girl was gang-raped in Lama Upazilla Health Complex area of the district on Tuesday night.

Police arrested one of the alleged rapists, Nur Mohammad, a peon of the health complex, following a case filed with Lama Police Station by the victim's relatives against three people.

Md Khaled Mahmud, Lama Upazilla Nirbahi Officer (UNO), quoted the victim as saying that a gang of three led by Shah Alam, a night guard of the health complex, raped her at a lonely place of the area around 7:30pm. She had gone to the health complex for her medical certificate as she was under treatment there.

Another accused is Md Selim. He went to the health complex for his wife's treatment, the UNO added.

After primary interrogation, the victim was sent to Bandarban Sadar Hospital for medical test.

nd sent it to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
