Three stalkers jailed

Three stalkers were jailed for one year each for stalking two schoolgirls at Alauddin Nagar village in Patgram upazila of the district on Sunday evening. Patgram Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Noor Qutubul Alam, also executive magistrate,  delivered the verdict in his office, police said. The convicts are Soyat Hossain, 25, son of Shahidur Rahman of Nabinagar village, Abdul Malek, 22, son of Shohedar Miah of the same village, and Imrul Kayes, 23, son of Azizul Haque of Tepurgari village. Police said they arrested the three while they were stalking two schoolgirls who were returning home from Bawra Arefa Khatun High School in the upazila on Sunday afternoon. They had been stalking schoolgirls on their way to and from the school for a long time, police said quoting locals. Mahfuzar Rahman, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Patgram Police Station, said the stalkers were sent to jail yesterday morning.
