Two accused denied bail, sent to jail in Moulvibazar

A court here yesterday rejected bail petitions of two accused and sent them to jail in a case filed for killing Jubo League leader Warish Ali in the town in 2014.

The accused are, Khorshed Alam, former councillor of Sunamganj municipality, and Nur Uddin.

Judge Mokbul Hasan of the Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court passed the order after they surrendered before the court seeking bail.

According to the case statement, unidentified criminals stabbed Warish Ali, a leader of the municipality unit of Jubo League, while he was going to offer his Eid prayers at a local mosque in the town on July 29 in 2014.

Later, victim's brother Haidar Ali filed a case with Sadar Model Police Station against 44 people in this connection.
