Two Jamaat leaders held

Two leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami were held in Joypurhat and Rangpur districts yesterday. Police arrested Joypurhat Jamaat ameer Ataur Rahman, 68, from Biswaspara area in the town around 11:00am. He was accused in a case for torching a passenger bus in the district on January 11 last year, said Farid Hossain, officer-in-charge of Joypurhat Sadar Police Station. Meanwhile, the law enforcers arrested Md Moslem Uddin, 52, a sura member of Gangachhara upazila unit of Jamaat, in Rangpur. He was a charge sheeted accused in a number of arson cases, said OC Zinnat Ali of Gangachhara Police Station.
