Two tied to trees, tortured brutally in Noakhali

Police today arrested a prime accused in connection with a case filed for beating a man and a woman in Noakhali Sadar four days ago.

Zafar Ahmed alias Zafar Daktar was arrested from Karmulah bazaar in Sudharam around 12noon, our Noakhali correspondent reports quoting police.

According to the case, some people including Zafar tied both of the victims to trees and beat up bringing allegation of an extra-marital affair against them.

They tortured the both in front of half of a hundred people and cut off hair of the male person.

Later, their family members and locals rescued them. The male victim was undergoing treatment at Noakhali General Hospital, said Md Anwar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Sudharam Police Station.

He added that Zafar was arrested after the woman early today filed a case accusing him and seven others.

“A drive is underway to arrest the other accused,” the OC said.
