Woman killed after rape

A woman was killed after rape over land dispute at Telkupi village in Sadar upazila on Sunday. 

The deceased is Fahima Begum, 34, daughter of Rahim Mollah of the village. She was a divorcee. 

Police and locals said there was a longstanding feud between Rahim Mollah and one Sharif Uddin over a piece of land in the area. 

On Sunday afternoon, Sharif locked in an altercation with Rahim over the land. 

Rahim Mollah said "Sharif and his men picked up my daughter at night and killed her." 

Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said Fahima was strangled after rape. 

Police arrested Sharif in connection with the murder, said the OC.
