Youth held with drugs in C'nawabganj

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested a youth with 101 bottles of phensidyl, 10 grams of heroin and 170 Indian rupees from a house at Kalupur village in Gomostapur upazila of the district yesterday.

The arrestee is Yeasin Ali, 25, son of Taher Ali of Helachi village in Bholahat upazila.

On secret information, the elite force raided the house in the area and arrested Yeasin with the phensidyl and heroin.

Later, he was handed over to Gomostapur Police Station. A case was filed in this connection, said ASP Shahidar Rahman of Rab-5.

In another driver, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 50 bottles of phensidyl from a field in Shibganj upazila on Wednesday night.

However, none was arrested in this connection, said Lt Col SM Abul Ehsan, commanding officer of BGB-9 Battalion.
