Youth hospitalised after air pumped through rectum

A youth was hospitalised today after a co-worker pumped air into his body through the rectum at a spinning mill in Narayanganj.

The victim, Al Amin, 20, is a worker of the mill in Araihajar upazila of Narayanganj, our local correspondent reports.

His co-worker Rimon Miya, 21, was detained for allegedly committing the brutality, Shakhawat Hossain, officer-in-charge of Araihajar Police Station, said.

The incident took place around 1:30pm when Rimon pumped air into Al Amin's rectum while cleaning cotton from their body with a compressor machine.

Immediately after the incident, Al Amin was rushed to Bhulta General Hospital and was later shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) when his condition deteriorated.

Rimon was detained soon after the incident, however, he termed the incident unintentional.

Earlier, two workers from Sonargaon and Rupganj were brutally killed allegedly by pumping air into their body through their rectum in separate incidents.
