Nusrat achieves grade A in one subject

Sonagazi madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi, who died after she was set on fire while her Alim exam was going on, achieved grade A in Quran Mazid Hadith in the HSC equivalent exam result published today.

Nusrat, a student of Sonagazi Islamia Senior Fazil Madrasa, could appear at only one subject before she had been set ablaze on April 6 only a few minutes before her next exams.

A group of people poured kerosene on the 18-year-old girl and set her afire for refusing to withdraw a case against the madrasa principal over sexual assault on her.

She lost her battle for life, five days after she was set ablaze -- an incident that touched off outrage all over the country.

Her Alim result published today shows she got A grade in Quran Mazid Hadith subject while her peers celebrated success.
