James to perform in Lisbon this July

Bangladeshi rock icon James is set to perform in Lisbon for the first time as part of the “Lisbon Bangla Live Concert 2026”, scheduled for July 26. The event is expected to be a major cultural gathering for the Bangladeshi diaspora in Portugal.

According to organisers, the concert will be held at Lisboa ao Vivo, a popular venue in the Portuguese capital, beginning at 5:00pm. James is expected to perform his most celebrated songs, offering audiences a memorable musical evening.

Organising bodies Casa do Bangladesh and Noticia Bangla described the concert as the largest Bangla musical event ever held in Portugal.

To mark the occasion, a press conference and dinner night were held on Sunday (April 26) at Liton’s Turkish Grill in Lisbon, attended by members of the community, business leaders, cultural activists, and media representatives.

Organisers said the participation of an internationally recognised artiste like James would strengthen cultural ties among expatriate Bangladeshis and recreate a sense of home through music.

The concert has already generated significant enthusiasm among the Bangladeshi community in Portugal, eager to experience a piece of homegrown culture abroad.
