Taylor Swift leads the nominations for this year’s American Music Awards, with a total of eight nods. Her album “The Life of a Showgirl” helped her secure nominations in major categories. These include Artiste of the Year, Album of the Year  and Song of the Year for her track “The Fate of Ophelia”. She is also nominated for Best Pop Album, Best Pop Song, Best Female Pop Artiste, Best Music Video, and Song of the Summer.

Swift already holds the record for the most wins in the history of the awards. This year, she has the chance to extend that lead.

Close behind her are Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Dean, Sombr, and Morgan Wallen. Each of them received seven nominations. Dean and Sombr are first-time nominees.

The awards show is also known for its performances. Over the years, artistes like Britney Spears, Beyoncé, Eminem, and Missy Elliott have performed on its stage.

This year, Queen Latifah will host the show. She previously co-hosted the event in 1995. In a statement, she said she is excited to return and celebrate music in Las Vegas.

The 2026 American Music Awards will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The show will air live on May 25, on CBS and Paramount+.
