The fourth edition of “Buddha of Bengal: Our Sacred Community” concludes today (May 6) at Alliance Française de Dhaka, after a week-long showcase of sacred art and cultural engagement.

Opening on April 28, the exhibition brought together 91 works by 80 Bangladeshi artists, centering on the concept of Sangha—the sacred community in Buddhadharma.

Through diverse mediums including painting, sculpture, textiles, and printmaking, the exhibition explored themes of compassion, interconnectedness, and shared humanity.

Participants ranged from established artists to students and faculty from major institutions such as University of Dhaka, University of Rajshahi, and Jahangirnagar University, alongside contributions from Bulbul Academy of Fine Arts and Yunnan Art University.

Beyond the artworks, the exhibition featured daily performances, workshops, and discussions on Buddhist philosophy, offering visitors a layered cultural experience.
