Babita to receive Mother Award 2026 on World Mother’s Day
Celebrated Bangladeshi actress Babita is set to receive the Mother Award 2026 on May 10 in recognition of both her contribution to cinema and her role as a mother.
The award ceremony, organised on the occasion of World Mother’s Day, will be held at a hotel in the capital under the patronage of the Ali-Rupa Foundation.
The veteran actress said she feels honoured to receive recognition not only for her film career but also for raising her son. “I have received the National Film Award, lifetime achievement honours and the Ekushey Padak for my contributions to cinema. But receiving a Mother Award for portraying maternal roles on screen and for raising my only son Anik as a good human being feels very special,” she said.
Babita has already had a significant year in terms of recognition and achievements. Earlier this year, she was honoured with the country’s second-highest state award and also received the Who’s Who award. On July 26, she is also expected to receive a lifetime achievement honour from Ananda Mela in the United States.
The Mother Award 2026 initiative has been organised by Madhiha Marsiha Advertising under the initiative of journalist Abhi Moinuddin. This year, six mothers from the cultural arena, two from journalism, and 12 mothers of accomplished individuals from professions including banking, law, the air force and medicine will be honoured.
