Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal is reportedly in advanced talks to join the sequel to “3 Idiots”, reuniting with the original cast led by Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan and Sharman Joshi.

According to Indian entertainment portal reports, the upcoming film is tentatively titled “4 Idiots”, with Kaushal being considered for the role of the “fourth idiot” alongside the original trio.

The sequel is being developed by filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani and writer Abhijat Joshi, who are currently working on the screenplay. Reports suggest the team is taking time to ensure the script matches the legacy and popularity of the original film.

Sources claim Kaushal has responded positively to the script and is excited about reuniting with Hirani after previously collaborating on Sanju and Dunki. His character is expected to introduce a fresh emotional dynamic to the story while interacting with the returning protagonists.

Several meetings between Aamir Khan, Rajkumar Hirani and Vicky Kaushal have reportedly already taken place, though scheduling and production timelines are still being aligned.

Aamir Khan recently confirmed that the sequel is in development and hinted that the story would take place around 10 years after the events of “3 Idiots”. The film is expected to explore how the lives of the beloved characters have evolved over time while introducing new challenges and relationships.

Before joining the project, Kaushal is expected to complete work on his upcoming film Mahavatar, which is reportedly set to begin production soon.

Released in 2009, “3 Idiots” became one of Bollywood’s most celebrated films and featured performances from Kareena Kapoor Khan, Boman Irani, Mona Singh and Omi Vaidya in key roles.
