BTS’s J-Hope drops debut album
BTS's J-Hope has finally dropped his debut studio album "Jack in the Box", garnering an amazing response from fans. The album has a total of ten tracks and is conceptualised around the iconic childhood toy of the same name. In some ways, the toy and the album are both an allegory for Pandora's Box—and all the darkness contained within it.
As a concept album, the sound of "Jack in the Box" draws inspiration from old school hip-hop, with slight elements of grunge. The themes reflected in the album highlights J-Hope's deep love for his craft, his anxiety about the future, and his belief that there are no truly bad people in the world.
"More" and "Arson", the two title tracks, are the baseline for the album, talking about blind ambition and a passion that is almost insatiable. J-Hope has become the first BTS member to release a solo album, showcasing his individuality that separates him from his BTS persona. The future looks bright for J-Hope, and fans can only look forward to what he does next.
