Energy security fears rise as Iran becomes conflict hotspot
Last Saturday, the United States and Israel launched missile attacks on Iran, marking the start of a dramatic escalation in the region.
The initial strikes targeted and killed Iran’s top leader, Ayatullah Ali Khamenei, along with several senior officials. In response, Iran launched counterattacks, rapidly spreading conflict across the Middle East.
The situation across the region remains highly unstable, prompting global concern.
Questions over energy security have become paramount, as the conflict threatens critical oil and gas supply routes. Much of the discussion has returned to the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
