Hyder Husyn's death rumour spreads online, singer embarrassed
False reports about the death of veteran singer Hyder Husyn spread rapidly on Facebook on Saturday evening, causing confusion among fans and followers. Several groups and pages shared the claim, while fake photocards using the names of different media outlets also circulated online.
However, the rumour was firmly dismissed by the popular lyricist, composer, and singer himself.
Speaking to reporters on Saturday night, Hyder Husyn said, “I haven’t been able to put my phone down since the evening. So many people have been calling. What a situation I’ve found myself in! I am healthy and doing well.” He also described the spreading of such rumours as highly inappropriate, particularly when it involves news of someone’s death.
The false reports created concern among fans on social media, many of whom reached out through phone calls and messages to check on the singer. The confusion eased once the artiste clarified the matter himself.
Hyder Husyn has previously made headlines due to health concerns. In June 2022, he was admitted to hospital after suffering a heart attack, when a stent was placed in his heart. The information was confirmed at the time by his wife, Nusrat Jahan. Earlier, in 2016, he also experienced a heart attack while in the United States and underwent a procedure in which two stents were implanted.
In the history of Bangladeshi band music, Hyder Husyn remains a significant figure. He is one of the founders of the band Winning and was also the one who came up with its name. The band’s song “Mon Ki Je Chay Bolo” remains popular among listeners.
Before pursuing music professionally, the musician began his career as an engineer in the Bangladesh Air Force. However, his passion for music eventually led him to the stage and studio, and he has been professionally involved in music since 1979.
Early in his career, he played guitar alongside legendary composer Alam Khan and later worked with pop icon Azam Khan. These experiences helped shape his identity as a singer, lyricist, and composer.
Over the years, he gained widespread popularity with songs such as “30 Bochor Poreo Ami Shadhinotatake Khujchhi” and “Ami Faisa Gechhi”, which remain memorable parts of Bangladeshi band music.
Following the rumour, Hyder Husyn reassured his fans, saying, “I am well. Thank you everyone for checking on me.”
