Shishir parts ways with Aurthohin

After a journey that has spanned over two decades, Shishir Ahmed—whose name has become almost synonymous with the band—has departed from Aurthohin. The news was confirmed by Facebook posts from the verified accounts of Shishir and Aurthohin.

In his post, Shishir would write, "It might hurt you to learn this, the same way it is hurting me. My 20-year-journey with Aurthohin comes to an end today. Just the thought that I will no longer be associated with the band is hurting me a lot. I want to thank Sumon bhai for treating me like a younger brother for all of these years. It would not have been possible for me to become who I am today, without him. I would also like to give my best wishes to Mark, Mahaan, Titu bhai and all of the management team. I have always been by Aurthohin's side and will remain in their corner in the future as well. I will forever be grateful to Aurthohin and our fans, without you guys, I would not have been to come this far. Lots of love and gratitude to all of you.  Everyone please pray for me!"

In similar fashion, Aurthohin's verified Facebook page shared, "In 2003, our fourth album, 'Dhrubok' was released. At that time, we made a change to the Aurthohin lineup. In addition to Piklu, we brought on Shishir as a guitarist and keyboardist. In the 25 years of our journey as a band, Shishir has been a part of almost 20 of those years. On the third of this month, that journey came to an end. It is with great sadness that we share this news with you today. Shishir has decided to leave the band due to personal reasons. Going forward, we want to send our best wishes to Shishir and look forward to even more beautiful music from him."

After 20 years, fans will no longer be able to see Shishir performing with Aurthohin or working on their future music. For now, "Phoenix Er Diary-1" will remain the last album from the band that included the magical touch of Shishir.
