‘Bhooth Bangla’ teaser: Akshay Kumar reunites with Priyadarshan
The teaser for the upcoming Hindi horror-comedy “Bhooth Bangla,” starring Akshay Kumar, was released on Thursday (March 12) ahead of the film’s theatrical debut on April 10.
The film marks Kumar’s reunion with filmmaker Priyadarshan. The cast also includes Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Wamiqa Gabbi and Tabu.
Sharing the teaser announcement on social media, Kumar hinted at the film’s chaotic storyline, describing it as a haunted house tale filled with comedy and mystery.
The one-minute-23-second teaser opens with a voiceover warning that no marriages take place in the town of Mangalpur and that a mysterious entity named “Vadhusur” haunts the area. The clip suggests that Kumar’s character is searching for a place to get married and eventually discovers an old, eerie mansion in the town.
The teaser then shifts to a series of comedic sequences involving the ensemble cast, interspersed with supernatural elements that hint at an unseen presence watching the family.
Some viewers also noticed similarities between the mansion featured in “Bhooth Bangla” and the iconic haveli seen in the film “Bhool Bhulaiyaa”.
The film is produced by Kumar along with Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor under the banners Balaji Motion Pictures and Cape of Good Films.
The story has been written by Akash A Kaushik, with the screenplay by Rohan Shankar, Abilash Nair and Priyadarshan. Shankar has also written the film’s dialogues.
At the box office, “Bhooth Bangla” is set to compete with “Dacoit”, starring Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur.
