This judgement is illegal: Zayed Khan

Zayed Khan has refused to accept the decision announced by the Appellate Division, which effectively terminated his candidacy and declared Nipun as the newly elected General Secretary, earlier today.

The actor told The Daily Star that the appeal board had already expired on January 29, 5 pm. Thus, according to Zayed, they have no official right to take any decision regarding the election of the Film Artiste Association anymore.

He was not present at the meeting arranged by the Appellate Board. "It is not possible for them to take this decision, as they are not officially appointed as a legal board. This judgement is illegal," said the agitated actor, who also informed that he will take legal actions.

Earlier, Nipun had lodged a written complaint to the Chairman of the Appellate Board, Sohanur Rahman Sohan, seeking cancellation of the candidacy of general secretary Zayed Khan and executive panel member Chunnu.

After that, Sohanur Rahman Sohan had sent a letter to the Ministry of Social Welfare, seeking guidance about supervising the matter. Hence, the ministry had given him the power to make a decision.

The Appellate board had taken action based on written statements of two voters, who admitted to taking bribes from Zayed Khan.
