Veteran Tamil Actor Mayilsamy passes away

Mayilsamy, a well-known Tamil comedian and performer, died today morning at the age of 57. He was known for his comedic roles and appeared in over 200 Tamil films. He also won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Comedian for his performance in "Kangalal Kaidhu Sei".

His untimely death shocked the Tamil cinema industry, and celebrities took to social media to express their condolences.

Actor Kamal Haasan took to Twitter to share a tribute. "My friend Mylaswamy is successful in presenting his own style of comedy acting. He is thought by many to be helpful. A tribute to a dear friend #Mayilsamy," he wrote.

Actress Sakshi Agarwal also remembered his positive attitude and sense of humor in her message. "Teddy" famed Tamilian actor Arya also shared his condolences.

Mayilsamy was also a well-known stage performer, stand-up comedian, television personality, and theater artist. He made his Tamil television debut as the host and judge of a renowned comedy show, and made his Tamil cinema debut in 1984 with veteran filmmaker-actor K Bhagyaraj's film "Dhavani Kanavugal".
