'This win is for everyone who believed in me'

The Appellate Board has disqualified Zayed Khan and elected Nipun as the new general secretary at the election for the Film Artistes Association. The newly elected committee will take the vow tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon.

Nipun has shared her feelings with The Daily Star, after her triumph.

Exactly how are you feeling right now?

I am truly humbled and grateful to the artistes who stood stiff beside me. This win is for the truth and everyone who believed in me.

There was solid evidence regarding the allegations, which was proved as the Appellate Board investigated and verified the matter. This is why his (Zayed Khan's) candidacy was terminated. The election was fair, however, for one person, the entire event was tainted.

Zayed Khan has said that he will take legal action, what do you have to say to that?

Every citizen in this country has the right to take help from the law. If he goes for any legal action, we are also prepared to fight.

What are you aiming to do for the association?

I am continuously working for the welfare of the artistes, which will remain the same. However, my goal is to bring our Honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to the BFDC. I said this before the election, and I am saying this again.
