Protect fields and parks: DNCC mayor

Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Md Atiqul Islam today urged all to protect fields and parks in the city corporation area.

"We have built 18 parks and four playgrounds. They should be maintained by all. Even if the city corporation has built the ground, it will be used by people of the area. Therefore, people should also be aware and look after the fields and parks," he said.

Atiqul was speaking after inaugurating the Freedom Fighter Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal Complex Library and Madhubagh Ground.

Mentioning that road and drainage system development work has been done in the Madhubagh area, the mayor said, "Once upon a time, Madhubagh used to become waterlogged after a little rain. The drainage system has been improved. When it rains, the water recedes within a short time."
