Exercising moms-to-behave less chubby babies
Babies born to mothers who exercise in late pregnancy may enter the world with a little less body fat, a new study published in Obstetrics & Gynaecology finds.
Researchers said that could be a good thing, since extra fat at birth could continue into childhood and beyond. But the long-term health implications, if any, are not known yet.
Losing weight may ease hot flashes
Slimming down may help ease the hot flashes that often accompany menopause, new research published in journal Menopause suggests.
Researchers said that about one-third of menopausal women experience more than 10 hot flashes a day and it is more common in obese women. They explained that fat appears to function as an insulator, and interferes with heat dissipation.
