10 die in Covid unit of RMCH in 24 hours

Ten people died while being treated at the Covid unit of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital during 24 hours till 8 this morning.

Of them, three were positive for coronavirus infection and others had symptoms, said Brig Gen Samim Yazdani, director of the hospital.

Two of the deceased were from Rajshahi, one from Chapainawabganj, two Natore, two Naogaon and three were from Pabna, he added.

One hundred and eighty-seven samples were tested at the RT-PCR lab of the hospital in 24 hours of which 67 was positive, the director said.

On the other hand, 582 samples were tested at the medical college lab of which 85 were positive.

Current positivity rate at Rajshahi is 28.80 percent, the hospital director also said.
