11 die of Covid-19 in Kushtia in 24 hours, infection rate 22.84%

Eleven people died of Covid-19 and another with Covid-like symptoms in Kushtia in 24 hours till 8am today.

The deceased were hospitalized at the Covid unit of Kushtia General Hospital and other health complexes, reports our local correspondent quoting Dr Abdul Momen, deputy director of the hospital.

In the 24 hours till 8 this morning, 499 samples were tested for coronavirus infection, of which 114 came positive. Current positivity rate is 22.84 percent.

Dr Momen also said, 133 patients diagnosed with Covid-19 have recovered during this time.

A total of 257 patients were taking treatment at the Covid unit till this morning. Also, 781 people remain in home isolation in the district.

So far, 618 people have died from Covid-19 and 15,808 have infected with the virus in Kushtia since the outbreak in the country, according to health ministry data.
