Covid-19: 102 deaths recorded in a day, positivity rate down to 13.77%

One hundred and two people died from Covid-19 in the 24 hours preceding 8am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 25,729 and the death rate stands at 1.74 percent.

A total of 34,111 samples were tested across the country and at least 4,698 new infections were recorded in this period, taking the total number of people infected to 14,82,628 added the release.

The current positivity rate is 13.77 percent while overall positivity rate stands at 16.87 percent. The daily positivity rate was 14.76 percent the previous day.

At least 8,314 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 13,97,885 and the recovery rate stands at 94.28 percent.  

Among the 102 deceased, 52 were men and 50 were women.

Of them, two were between 11-20 years old, two between 21-30, 10 between 31-40, 18 between 41-50, 33 between 51-60, 26 between 61-70, eight between 71-80 and three between 81-90, added the release.
