Lakshmipur municipality councilor dies of Covid-19

Lakshmipur municipality councilor Mohammad Raihan died of Covid-19 at a hospital in Dhaka early today.

After he was diagnosed with coronavirus, Raihan (50) was admitted to Anwer Khan Modern Medical College Hospital five days back, his nephew Md Rubel told The Daily Star.

He breathed his last at the hospital around 2:30am, said Rubel.

Raihan, a resident of Dakshin Mojupur area under the municipality, was the councilor of Ward-10 and general secretary of Awami League's ward unit, reports our Noakhali correspondent.

He will be buried at the family graveyard in Lakshmipur this afternoon after his namaz-e-janaza.
