Deaths from measles, symptoms cross 700-mark as 4 more die in 24 hours

Deaths from measles and measles-like symptoms have crossed 700-mark as the country recorded four more suspected measles deaths in the 24 hours till 8:00am today.

With the four, the total deaths reached 702, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Of the deaths, 93 were confirmed to have been caused by measles, while 609 were classified as suspected measles deaths since March 15.

During the 24 hours, 869 suspected measles cases were recorded, while the confirmed cases were 107, DGHS data shows.

During the reporting period, 786 patients with measles or measles-like symptoms were admitted to hospitals, while 825 patients were discharged.
